Each year I have to assist to Eurobike in the south of Germany, so I always plan a bikepacking trip nearby.
At the same time, this year I was invited by 3T to the Jeroboam Gravel Bike event at the Czech Republic, sponsored by WTB, so I decided to go from Eurobike to the event by bike. Good Challenge: 830km with +12.550m in five days, to be able to arrive on time to the event and complete the ride of 160kms with +3000m.
I planned the trip from a route published in bikepacking.com (the “Transgermany” route ). Most of the time, the route is in small paths and single tracks.
Before departure at Eurobike.
Bad news. I was able to ride 310kms with +5500m in the 5 days, so I had to take a train from Nuremberg to the Czech Republic to be able to arrive at the event on time.
At Hrensko, Czech Republic, nearby the “camp zone” of the Jeroboam Gravel Challenge.
Before the departure of the Challenger.
Fire, friends, and beer after the ride. All I needed to finish this cool trip, see you next year, Europe!
And talking about JEROBOAM, this post has really good timing, because we just launched the new website with all the info about the 2020 JEROBOAM SERIES, with 7 exciting stops all around the world, get all the details here:
