CITY Strada Hiroshima

Cherry Blossom in Hiroshima

Surprisingly many well connected bike lanes make it relatively easy and safe to ride in this historical city. And the Cherry Blossom is simply awesome to see!

City:  Hiroshima
Country:  Japan
Bike:  Strada Due
Distance: 25km
Time: 1h
Best period of the year: all year
Best time of the day: all day (winter), early morning (summer)
Ascent: 150m
Favorite stop (optional): Peace Memorial Park
Route: www.komoot.com/tour/61018740

I always wanted to pay a visit to Hiroshima to visit the Peace Memorial Park, and I was so fortunate to get this occasion in April of this year. As I was traveling with my bike, I took the occasion to make a short ride through the city and discover Hiroshima on the bike. Surprisingly many well-connected bike lanes make it easy and safe to ride in this Japanese city. Especially the rides along the river on a true bike path are stunning, with many cherry trees in full blossom. Overall there is a lot of green in the city, and car drivers actually pay attention to cyclists. I would highly recommend you to visit the Peace Memorial Park and the Peace Museum after your ride.
