12H Monza Race on the Strada

Meet the racers!

September 15th-16th, four friends from Varese: Andrea, Gianni, Stefano and Angelo, will take on the challenge to race the 12H Cycling Marathon on the Monza circuit. Their bike of choice: Strada Pro.

Posted by Rene Wiertz - 10 September 2018

Most people know the circuit in Monza from the F1 races. This 6.1 mile historic circuit (it was opened in 1922) has been home to the fastest cars and racers in the F1 ‘peloton’. But the circuit is also used for a tough bike race, called the 12H Cycling Marathon of Monza.

This year the 12H Cycling Marathon will take place in the weekend of 15-16 September. We are very proud that a team of 4 friends will participate this year and strive for victory, racing on Strada Pro bikes. The team is supported by Record Bike, a 3T dealer from Malo.

Let me introduce you our racers!

From left to right: Andrea Stellini, Stefano masciocchi, Angelo immormino, Gianni temporali

ANDREA – “the Rebel”
Unconventional, whimsical, very nice and leader of the team.
Andrea has 11 years of cycling career in the federation and another 10 years as an amateur, passing from MTB to cyclo-cross..
‘Fast Shooter’

GIANNI – “the Spiritual”
Calm and thoughtful after 6 years of Yoga and having converted to a less materialistic vision of life. His motto is: “Better to be happy than to be right”.
10 years of cycling activity starting from the smallest categories up to the amateurs, collecting about thirty victories
‘Fast Passer’

STEFANO – “the Diplomat”
Calm, calm … the mediator of the group who rarely loses patience
He rides on a bike since he was a kid, reaching the amateurs and passing through various disciplines like MTB and the Cyclocross. His motto is: “I never lose! Either I win or I learn!
‘Excellent passer’

ANGELO – “the preciso”
We can call him the “Patrician cycle of the group” … everything must be affixed, everything must be in order everything must be “PRECISE”.
Started to ride a bike at 28 because he was dragged by former amateur friends;  Angelo immediately became passionate and since 1992 he has never stopped pedaling.
He takes part in ACSI races and for him it is the first experience at Monza 12h convinced by the other 3 teammates who, in the past, have already done and won this hard race.
‘Fast Passer’

Andrea, Gianni, Stefano & Angelo: i wish you a great race this upcoming weekend! Stay tuned!
